Auto, Farm, and Fleet: We are here for all your parts needs

Sunset Auto Parts has been a presence in Columbia County since 1935, first in St. Helens under the name Cooper Auto Parts. Later in 1959, the Cooper family opened a NAPA store in Scappoose.

These NAPA stores went on to be owned by Barry Hess, born and raised in Scappoose. In 1970, while still in High School, Barry went to work for the Scappoose store owned then by Clarence O'Brien. Barry would eventually go on to work for corporate NAPA, returning to purchase the Scappoose store in 1978. In 1981 the business was incorporated under the name Sunset Auto Parts. Sunset Auto Parts grew to eventually include 18 stores, making it one of the largest NAPA Owner Groups in the nation at one time.

In 2024 Clayton and Robyn Lawson bought the Sunset NAPA stores. Raised in Arizona, the Lawson family owned and operated NAPA stores in Peoria, AZ. After working for the family and with NAPA corporate, which brought him to PNW, his experience and passion for customer service opened the opportunity to work with Barry and acquire the stores.
